Tarte Tatin, or Upside Down Apple Tart, is perhaps the second most famous dessert from France after creme brûlée. Its simplicity is what makes it so delicious — caramel, apples, and a flaky crust. Traditionally, it takes hours to make, but Anyday and the microwave cut that down to under 30 minutes! You’ll still use the oven to get that flaky, golden-brown puff pastry crust.
WARNING! When working with hot sugar, please take care to work safely. Do not set dishes on cool, wet surfaces as the dish may crack. Do not dip your finger to taste hot caramel while still liquid. Make sure not to overcook the sugar or it can crack the dish.
